Damn, almost forgot...

Guess I better get at that letter to the water people. I keep forgetting to get it done, got too much other shit like getting something in to heat my damn house.

I can't complain about this landlord too much but I'm starting to get kinda tired of him too. I told him last July that I could not order any heating oil til the tank, furnace and chimney were inspected and passed.

Well, here it is getting to the end of October and he is just getting the new oil tank in place and I have to wait til Monday morning for it. Then I have to order the oil and wait for it to be delivered.

Anyone see something wrong with this?

I also asked the landlord to give a price to purchase this dump and he wouldn't have to take care of anything else, not that he has put dick into this place in last 15 years anyway, but have I heard anything? Not a single word? And I guess why should he? He has gotten over $120 thousand out of me since I moved in and he hasn't spent diddly squat on the place.

I pay for the oil, water, hydro, water heater rental, lawn maintenance, shoveling and all other upkeep.

Let's see, he paid for a new furnace when he bought the place in 1990, about $2000, then a new roof three years ago, couldn't be more than $1500, and a load of gravel to appease the bylaw officer and bitch next door about 8 years ago.

I think he has gotten off pretty fucking good on this place. Time for someone else to get a piece of the the fucking pie, namely me!

Enough for now.

Water usage?

Got my water bill a week or two ago and it is rather strange one.

It is for the amount of just over $80 but shows that I used no water for the previous 60 days......

Just how is this possible, you ask?

I have been receiving the little cards that are to be filled out and sent in so that a bill can be computed as to the amount used. I have been a little lax in this department, lazy maybe, or just have other shit on my plate to deal with, but just suffice it to say I did not fill out the little cards!

Anyway, what they end up doing is to estimate the amount used, supposedly based on historical data. Well, that has to be bullshit. What prompted me to fill out the little card this time was the last estimated bill showing that we used about 161 gallons of water per day....? WTF?

There are only two of us living here...... We both have showers in the morning, and not an excessive amount I might add, no more than about 5 to 8 minutes each, and whatever toilet flushing is done during the day. All other water usage is negligible. So how in the hell did we manage to get to 161 gallons a day?

So far, I am no closer to the answer but I will be finding out. It seems that they looked at the card I sent and decided that "Oh crap, we over charged on this one and we can't show by how much or there may be shit to pay!" So, they just put it down as no water used, like that is at all possible.

I will be requesting an actual accounting of the amount I was overcharged by so that I know what kind of a screwing they are trying to accomplish or I will be taking them both to court and or the media.

And as a side note, the $80 includes a sewer charge, which I thought was tied into the water usage, ergo no water used=no sewer used, a $35 service charge, what service, no water used=no service, and a fire protection charge, did I have a fire I didn't know about or is this like insurance or if you go back to the old movies, "I won't burn yer house down if ya pay this money, call it fire protection".....

Anyway, the rant for today.
